Real estate transactions are increasingly targeted by wire fraud and email scams. To help protect yourself:

• Never rely solely on emailed or texted wire instructions. Criminals may impersonate brokers, title companies, lenders, buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, or other parties involved in a transaction.

• New Edge Commercial Real Estate will never send new or revised wire instructions solely by email, text message, or social media.

• Always verify wire instructions by calling the title company or the appropriate party using a trusted telephone number obtained independently—not from the email or message you received.

• Do not send confidential financial information through unsecured email or electronic communications unless specifically instructed to do so through a secure method.

• If you receive suspicious wire instructions or suspect fraud, do not transfer funds. Immediately contact your real estate broker, title company, lender, financial institution, and local law enforcement.

• If you have already sent funds, notify your bank immediately, request that the transfer be recalled, and report the incident to law enforcement as soon as possible.

Protecting your funds is a shared responsibility. Always independently verify wire instructions before sending money.
